EXPERIENCE

Independent Contractor – May 2006 – Current
Flash and Flex based RIA development for a variety of technology companies. Projects include:

* Flex 2 / Flash based touch-screen client for high-end Audio-Visual control systems. Duties also
included server-side development on a Spring-based Java platform.

* Flash based video player with advertisement support running off a TEA encrypted XML back-end.

* Continued development and support of Concept Retail, an online retail product described below.


Fluid, Inc. – January 2000 – March 2006
Product Lead / Senior Application Developer

* Lead development for a large-scale online retail product - Concept Retail. The product incorporates both a consumer-
facing embedded Flash app and a robust Flash-based admin tool built on top of a SOAP, Apache, Java, Hibernate and MySQL server stack.

* Worked closely with product managers to define high-level product strategy and user requirements.

* Collaborated with information architects to produce screen schematics and other IA deliverables. Created IA for site sections, and performed visual design extension.

* Developed XML schemas, UML, and other technical specifications to communicate tasks with a small team of engineers.

* Performed client-side development on a wide variety of Flash applications integrating with a wide range of other technologies including Javascript, Macromedia Director, ActiveX, Eclipse SWT, and other Flash projectors. Notable projects include:

* RBKCustom – A high-profile RIA shoe configurator. Assisted with both Flash and Java development

* Avery Photo ID System – A visitor management system built using Flash, Director, and Java. Winner of 2003 Macromedia Max Award. Lead client-side developer.

* Fluid, Inc. website – The Fluid public website. Developed XML driven Flash homepage navigator and
image viewers.

* Created and maintained a popular Actionscript programmatic tweening library exhibited in the Tween Playground, a tool for designers to learn and experiment with programmatic tweens.

* Performed server-side Java development work using SOAP, Axis, Tomcat, XDoclet, Hibernate, and MySQL. Client-side Java experience includes Eclipse SWT and Swing.


Tripos, Inc. – August 1997 – October 1999
Consultant / Software Developer
* Developed within the Tripos Metalayer - a Java/CORBA based data integration framework used by research scientists within large pharmaceutical companies.
* Created CORBA IDL wrappers for legacy cheminformatics system using Java JNI.
* Created JDBC data providers for custom drug discovery
databases.
* Extended development on Java swing UI incorporating custom
3D renderers, and third-party graphing and spreadsheet
packages.
* Developed intranet applications using Perl and shell scripting.
* Other experience ranges across the entire consulting process - onsite interviews, requirement documents and specification, UML design, configuration management, product installation at international client sites, and marketing.
